The decision...

January of this year, I received notification that I had won tickets to the world cup. I bought 4 tickets for each one of the games that Mexico is playing on the first section of the tournament.

First Game:
Opening Game Mexico vs SoutAfrica

Second Game:
Mexico vs France

Third Game:
Mexico vs Uruguay.

The main reason why I bought four tickets is because I needed three (Aimee, Valeria y Gerardo) and the fourth one is just in case I could sell it over there and try to make a little bit of money back.

I was almost sure that I was not going to win tickets to the games dues that I'd never win them in the past. Yet, this time was different. I got my email confirmation that my credit card had been charged for the games purchased and I recently received in the email the document that grantees me my tickets for all the games.

Here is a picture of the document i received...

Stay in touch, as i will update the itinerary of the trip and the amazing places and stadiums we will be visiting.

Thank you

Welcome

Here it is, we are twenty something days from the start of a new football WORLD CUP. This time is going to be in SouthAfrica, year 2010. This time around I really did not think we were going to to go due to a few personal family problems. Also, Aimee and I were/are concern about the security in South Africa in regards to our beautiful daughter. There has been a lot of news throughout the years about the security of SouthAfrica being simply bad, corrupted and bottom line horrible.

Yet, the thought process of us deciding to go was that if FIFA is comfortable enough to allow fans to travel to SouthAfrica, then it is probably safe and worth going. I clearly remember FIFA or CONMEBOL canceling a Copa America in Colombia due to security somewhere in the 90s. Therefore, I believe if there was a security concern to FIFA, they would have stopped the event in this country. Also, this time around we are traveling with a different mood. We are going to be doing lots  of TOURS to make sure we are not wondering on the streets lost looking for something. This is definitely different as how we have traveled in the past but we feel it is a safer travel approach.

Anyhow, this will be the third world cup that Aimee and I travel together to. We went to Japan/SouthKorea in 2002. Then, we went to Germany 2006 (you can read from our experience in Germany here, notes and pics). Now, we are all set to travel to SouthAfrica for our third world cup together.

We are going to be using this site to capture our little moments on this new adventure. There will be notes, pictures and whatever comes to mind.

We want to share this experience with all of our friends and family members, so stay in touch and you are welcome to come back as much as you want.

More to come soon...
